Summer on 4 wheels and 10 legs

We first look at each other a bit suspiciously. But then it blinks to me like if it would ask me for  a chance. Chance to show me, that unknown might be also fun. In my heart is a mixture of feelings. Vacations on 4 wheels are not my cup of tea, I so much more like free space and sky above my head, exploring the world by my legs...but this car looks so cute that you cannot hate it even if you would like to.  Four wheels, 5 seats, an openable roof with a tent, back seats that can be flattened to a bed, small kitchen hidden in a wardrobe, a tiny sink, plus storage everywhere you could imagine. This is our home for next 14 days.  I can see also a mixture of feelings in the faces of girls - it is smaller than they expected, but it is cute. Should they like it or not? Robert just runs directly inside with full confidence and loves our new 4 wheel home from the first moment. For fourteen days he will answer to a question if he is looking to be at home without thinking: "do...

Rainbow story about one cool (4 days or 3 weeks?) trip to Mallorca

Life is kind of cool. Challenging, but that is what makes it fun. I guess. It is Saturday evening and looking back at this week feels kind of ridiculous. Jan left for a conference to US and I was left in front of a decision either to cry alone at home and feel miserable or use the time as well as I can. And that is what I am kind of good at. Using and enjoying my time. Now I could just show you the cool pictures and tell how amazing time we had. To show up. But there is the whole story that should be told. Story of parents with small kids. The truth, that there is way more than you see on the pictures. It doesn't mean that it wasn't cool. It just means that stories have many different sides. And stories with small kids are so colorful that there are not enough colors to paint all those moods and experiences that change quicker than you can register. And on top there is the fight between you being solo adventurous traveler versus being a parent who is sometimes also just tired a...

Looking back to 2021 feels sad, looking forward to 2022 feels promising

Year 2021 really taught me to find borders of my powers. I always thought that I can achieve whatever I decide for, that the problem is typically only in our head. This year told me, it is not like it. That even the saying there fits always one more into the bus is at some point not valid. Most of the time we balance between empty and half-empty bus, still having huge amount of space left. But when we get to the real meaning of the word full, we cannot fit anything anymore and then we really learn what "full" means. It was an interesting experience. Realizing where the real borders actually are and how the body reacts.  It all started slowly in the 2020. Full of energy running with smiles and enthusiasm getting a new kid, enjoying how nicely everything can fit to one day. How we can easily have plans, walks, work when the kid sleeps, and even read a book when walking outside with a stroller. The online teaching due to COVID-19 in the spring of 2020 was actually just another b...
